Overview
Inifinite canvas would be a great way to quickly get into drawing, without a need for worrying for a size. It gives the user a non-constrained graphical space for a project.
There is a major problem of technical nature, infinite dimensions make Node Graph rendering really difficult. Some nodes simply can’t reliably work with no size constraints. It would probably be possible to solve it, however my proposal is to constrain it only for drawing, layers and animations. Editing Node Graph would be disabled entirely.
Primary use of this mode, would be to have a space for drawing without a need for a specific size.
Additionally, PixiEditor by default could have an open infinite canvas space, instead of “Nothing’s here” screen.
This way, all you have to do to start drawing is to start PixiEditor and close the hello there window.
In the future, infinite canvas would be a first step for artboards/frames. Which would allow for more advanced graphical artwork composition. Each artwork would have each own Node Graph, etc.
