I think having a polygon selection tool simillarly to FireAlpaca should be considered. It would be very beneficial both for painting and photo editing(I got stuck trying to edit a photo for the first time and the lasso tool is too finicky). Maybe with some options to edit the selection points afterwards? But just having something basic will do.
